Since 2011, the New York Alliance for Careers in Healthcare (NYACH) has served as the City's healthcare Industry Partnership to connect healthcare employers, organized labor, educators, policymakers, and professional advocacy groups to strengthen and support New York City's 850,000-person healthcare workforce. Healthcare is the city's largest economic sector and NYACH works to align the talent development system with the needs of local healthcare employers—including hospitals, residential long-term care facilities, homecare, community clinics, medical laboratories, mental health providers, and insurance. NYACH develops data-driven strategies that improve job quality; expand access to opportunity, particularly for underrepresented communities; and enhance business models that stabilize care delivery and support better community health outcomes for New Yorkers.
NYACH regularly convenes healthcare employers, labor, educators, and policymakers to codesign solutions, drive cross-sector collaboration, and anticipate emerging trends. This includes a Partners Council that helps inform overall strategy and shares a common agenda and other advisory formats that cover additional subsectors and topics. NYACH also leads sector research and align stakeholders around shared language, challenges, and solutions to strengthen healthcare apprenticeships.
