The NYPD works with media organizations on the local, national, and international levels, handling all media inquiries and providing accurate information in a timely manner. Experienced public information officers are available around the clock to assist reporters and other media representatives. The NYPD provides working space within police headquarters to local media organizations that regularly cover the NYPD beat. Many of the in-house press are seasoned reporters who have covered the NYPD for years. Providing them with a convenient location within the building allows reporters to develop close working relationships with members of the department.
