The "Made in NY" Talks Series presents a variety of free programs exploring multiple topics within the media and entertainment industry. Programs focus on film, television, theater and digital media and support the goals of career development, networking, training and recruitment.
Made in NY Production Assistant Training Program
Developed in partnership with Brooklyn Workforce Innovations, this program provides individuals from diverse communities with training for entry-level positions in film production and access to employers in New York City's production industry.
The program educates and empowers individuals from diverse backgrounds to succeed in the media industry. Reel Works' program offers comprehensive training, hands-on work experiences, networking opportunities, and unparalleled access to industry professionals needed for a thriving career.
Made in NY Stagecraft Bootcamp
The Theatrical Workforce Development Program, in partnership with Roundabout Theatre Company and the NYC Department of Small Business Services, offers a six-week intensive in safety, workforce readiness, and technical skills – as well as a longer ten-month, hands-on program to train and place young adults in professional technical theatre careers.
Broadway Musicians Equity Partnership
BMEP's innovative program aims to provide access and learning opportunities for musicians who have historically been underrepresented on Broadway to learn about playing in the musical theater industry.
Designed to leverage teenagers' passion for popular music to lead them towards viable career paths, Sound Thinking NYC focuses on increasing opportunities in the music industry for underrepresented groups, especially women. Participants learn about the tools, technologies, and job that power songs, concerts, and soundtracks during a summer intensive and during the school year, and are invited to apply for paid summer internships.
Made in NY Animation Training Program
The Made in NY Animation Project offers NYC youth the opportunity to engage in storytelling, gain technical skills in 3D computer animation, and qualify for paid internships in the field. This program is in partnership with NYC Neighborhood Opportunity Network (NeON) Community Centers, and The Animation Project (TAP).
Digital Game Development is a new program at City College of New York which is creating a bachelor's degree in digital game design, preparing students for future careers in New York City's rapidly growing digital gaming industry.
