Housing and Employment Law for Domestic Violence Survivors in NYC

New Yorkers who are victims/survivors of domestic violence, sex offenses, or stalking are protected against discrimination in housing and employment by the City Human Rights Law. A victim of abuse should never be a victim of discrimination at home, on the job or when seeking employment. The NYC Commission on Human Rights enforces the City Human Rights Law and ensures survivors can live and work in the City free from discrimination. In order to generate awareness for protections in housing and employment based on status as a victim/survior, the NYC Commission on Human Rights has produced a number of public education materials to ensure New Yorkers know their rights and responsiblities under the Law.
