New Yorkers For Children (NYFC)

NYFC and ACS collaborate to support programs that promote stable adulthood through education and job training.
Programs include:

NYFC Guardian Scholars Program

• Available to youth enrolled at Hunter College, John Jay College, and Kingsborough Community College.
• Financial, academic, and emotional support.

NYFC Spirit Award

• A $10,000 scholarship to one high performing youth enrolled in college.
• Eligible youth demonstrate outstanding leadership skills, a commitment to community, and the determination and ability to overcome the barriers to academic success.

The Charles Evans Emergency Education Fund

• For students who were formerly involved in the foster care in New York City, ages 21-25 to help with completing your education.
• One-time emergency financial assistance to full or part-time college students with an unexpected financial emergency.
• The Education Coordinator works closely with the student to determine eligibility or other available assistance.

Back-to-School Package

• Available to all foster care youth up to age 25 enrolled in college or an accredited vocational program.
• Packages include computers and supplies.
