Each week NYC DOT posts a list of streets, bridges, highways, and tunnels that are temporarily closed for planned construction activities, special events, parades, and other events. A preliminary advisory is posted early in the week and is updated when the final advisory is posted on Friday. This information is subject to change including all event dates, times, and routes, and does not reflect closures due to emergency situations nor long-term construction projects.

West 9th Street between 6th Avenue and 5th Avenue

This street will be closed from 8am to 6pm Saturday, and 9am to 6pm Sunday through May 17, 2026 to facilitate crane operation.

This street will be closed from 8am to 6pm Saturday, and 9am to 6pm Sunday through May 17, 2026 for use of knuckle boom to hoist dunnage.

East 20th Street (service road) between Avenue C and 20 Street (loop)

This street will be closed from 8am to 4pm Saturday through August 8, 2026 for SANDRESPC-East Side Coastal Resiliency.

West 21st Street between 7th Avenue and 6th Avenue

This street will be closed from 9am to 2pm Friday to facilitate crane operation.

East 22nd Street between Broadway and Park Avenue South

This street will be closed from 6am to 11:59am Saturday and Sunday through May 31, 2026 for building inspection from boom truck.

East 24th Street between Dead End (2nd Avenue) and 1st Avenue

This street will be closed from 6am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday through May 17, 2026 for mobile crane replacement.

Baxter Street between White Street and Bayard Street

This street will be closed from 8am to 6pm Saturday, and 9am to 6pm Sunday through May 26, 2026 for DEP watermain disconnect and replacement.

Southbound Henry Hudson Parkway Exit Ramp to West 79th Street (Exit #10)

This street will be closed Friday April 17th, for approximately 6 weeks, weeknights from 10pm to 5am and Saturday nights from 12:01am to 7am for steel beam removal and replacement as permitted by NYCDOT Bridges. Motorists may exit southbound Henry Hudson Parkway at West 95th Street and follow the detour signs.

FDR Drive between Montgomery Street and East 15 Street

Single-lane northbound and/or southbound will be closed Monday to Thursday from 10pm to 5am next morning, Saturday from 12:01am to 9am, and Sunday from 1am to 11am. Double-lane will be closed Tuesday to Friday from 1am to 5am, Saturday from 1am to 7am, and Sunday from 1am to 7am. These closures are necessary to facilitate median reconstruction and will continue through August 15, 2026.

FDR Drive Southbound between Jackson Street and Cherry Street

Single-lane will be closed Friday from 11pm to 7am next morning, and Sunday from 11pm to 10am next morning. Double-lane will be closed Tuesday to Friday from 1am to 5am, Saturday from 1am to 6am, and Sunday from 1am to 7am. These closures are necessary to facilitate East Side Coastal Resiliency Project and will continue through September 11, 2026.
