NYC Department of Education District 79 - Referral Centers for High School Alternatives

Referral Centers for High School Alternatives are in each borough to help high school students find the best pathways to a high school or high school equivalency diploma.

Referral Centers can help students:

• Explore all possible paths to a high school diploma or enroll in Pathways to Graduation (P2G) to work towards their high school equivalency diploma;
• Learn about their rights as a NYC Depart- ment of Education student;
• Understand their high school transcripts;
• Get referrals for services such as child- care, social work, drug treatment, and housing.

Everyone is welcome to come learn more about their options. Students who are seeking to enroll in P2G should be 18-21 years old. If you are 17, you may enroll under extenuating circumstances and with parent of guardian permission; although final determinations are made by a school administrator. Students older than 21 should contact the Office of Adult and Continuing Education (718-638-2635) for more information on earning a high school equivalency diploma.
