					Build Safe | Live Safe Digital 2021: Safety and Sustainability 
 Our weeklong 
					virtual construction industry conference will be taking 
					place from May 3rd to May 7th, 2021 to coincide with 
					National Construction Safety Week. Conference 
					attendees will have the opportunity to hear from Department 
					experts on a variety of topics including construction 
					safety, building maintenance, NYC's regulatory landscape, 
					and building sustainability. There will also be worker safety sessions offered in multiple languages. The conference is 
					 free and open to the public, 
					with many courses also counting toward AIA continuing

					ongoing pandemic and in the interest of public safety, DOB 
					is continuing to delay the return to in-person

							submissions that have been received since the
							
							March 1st 
							expansion of DOB NOW: Build. To help keep 
							customers updated, a weekly Service Notice will be 
							posted providing current service levels for these 
							submissions.

					Local Law 150 of 
					2016: Gas Work Qualification Requirement Reminder 
 
						
							|  | As of 
							January 1, 2020, all gas work (based on 
							
							NYC Fuel Gas 
							Code definitions), including the 
							installation, testing, and maintenance of fuel-gas 
							piping systems, appliances, and accessories must be 
							performed by a Licensed Master Plumber or by:
							 
								
								A 
								person who holds a Gas Work Qualification issued 
								by DOB, working under the direct and continuing 
								supervision of a Licensed Master Plumber; or
								A 
								person who holds a Limited Gas Work 
								Qualification issued by DOB, working under the 
								personal and immediate supervision of a person 
								who holds a Gas Work Qualification or a Licensed 
								Master Plumber. The
							
							License Search 
							feature on the Department's website allows users to 
							verify if the professional they've hired to perform 
							gas work is a Licensed Master Plumber. Gas 
							work performed by a person who does not have the 
							required qualifications will result in enforcement 
							action, which may include but not be limited to 
							issuance of the following:
